Moské

Moské, is mosque in Swedish. One fine day (which was before the term ended last year), my SFI (Swedish for Immigrants) teachers took us around the town for a short tour to introduce us to a few famous buildings in the city. One of the places they took us to is actually a mosque. I've never been into a mosque in Malaysia but I have here. The exterior of the building is not like what was back home. It's almost like a normal buidling, with a couple of windows. Sorry, no pics of the building but I took a pic of what was required to be worn for ladies (only) who wanna enter for a visit.

Looks weird uh. That's cos I have my jacket on with my bag and all hidden underneath this purple attire...
Oh deerie

Some deers came to poo and graze on frozen grass today..

Cute. There were 3 of them together. These 2 pics were taken from the window of my room. Doesn't look cold but it's -2C in the day today. I din "dare" to go out. Maybe the bun in my oven is not liking the cold these days. I just wanna stay warm all the time.

Feels like i'm sleeping my life away..........

Mandi Bunga Online

After listening to M*toot*ki's series of unfortunate events, suddenly thought that this mandi bunga online thing might just work. Afterall, nowadays a lot of things are simplified. By things, I mean, prayers, ritual.....blah blah. Simplied means formality (yi ke yi shi). Elaborate means respect. Seriously....I have this auntie who's in Shoko Gakai since before I was born, told me now they have this "script" which is shorter than before and provide express prayers for those who're in the rush. She uses that now cos she needs to babysit my cousin's baby and she cannot kneel for long in front of the alter. God is very understanding of the limited time one has now in this world of rat race.

Anyways, back to M*toot*ki, when we used to work together back in @k, whenever I hear of her unfortunate events, I will get my mama to pluck 7 different flowers from her garden for M*toot* to mandi. Must be even numbers. 5 can, 3 too few lah. So 7 just nice. Luckily she has more than 7 different flowers in her garden. But according to my mama, pomelo leaves work best...more powerful that 7 different flowers. I dunno why but lau ren always seem to have unexplainable solution for ALL masalah. So I seriously think Obama shouldn't be President. McCaine should be. He's older so he'll have all the solutions to all masalah negara. (I'm just kidding)
Aiyoh, sorry, haven't get to the point yet. So, since my mama's garden is inaccessible to M*toot*ki (not as easy as before la), I came up with this idea of having mandi bunga online. You can choose different flowers from all over the world. You can even choose the smelly big bunga rafflesia (for once!), dandelions, daffodils etc etc.. or the other ang moh's flowers from ang moh land. You can practically mandi in the bunga(s) that you've not even heard of and impress people telling them you know these flowers exist!

So, http://www.mandibunga.com/ can do or not leh? At least it's environmental friendly....except for the time spent in front of the computer/laptop picking out your flowers consuming more electricity...oh god i can go on forever man..........

Jag kommer från Malaysia (I am from Malaysia)

Everything here seems so foreign here. The language, the people, the things people do. This is the 3rd day of my little adventure in Stockholm. However, I have only been out for 1 day of my 3 days here. Hahaha...the cold weather is making me damn lazy to go out. And also the privilege of not working .....oh it feels soooooo gooooooddddddd......but only if I have my dog to keep me company. I have to get PL to leave some housework for me to kill time. Hahahah.....he's used to doing everything himself. Is he a good husband or what? *2 thumbs up!*

I went out to the city on Sun but some shops were closed. Most of the buildings here look alike and can be easily mistaken and ppl's hse but it's actually commercial building. It's old....and according to PL, full of character. Didn't see a lot of Asians around. Saw only about 8 ppl throughout my long walk in the city. Weather is cold and sunny. YES, THERE'S SUN here but wie said unless it's hot, I won't get dark. Hehehhe....

Being a person who loves to cook, I always enjoy going to the local supermarket. Their version of GIANT here is call ICA (ee-ka). At first I pronounce it as I-C-A (like really say the letters out) and PL corrected me. Sometimes I feel like I'm learning how to talk again. Hahahhahaa.....anyhow, the supermarket ok lah. Their ICA is like cold storage, not those with low cost looking interior (like u can see exposed air con piping, zinc roof top etc). I guess since ikea is all about design and looking good, nothing here will look "budgetary" hahhaha. If I were to shop for groceries on my own, I think I'll pengsan. Everything is in swedish! Except for imported stuff like soya sauce, wasabi, chinese seasonings (oh yah they have these at the ethnic section). We wanted to get salt cos I wanna cook mee hoon kueh for PL. And PL told me "falksalt" means salt. Ok...that's easy. But when we saw the many types of falksalt(s), we wanna pengsan. Which is the SALT that taste like salt?! They have "Falksalt Utan Jod" and "Falksalt Med Jod" and got some more lah which I cannot remember. Dunno what it means and since labour cost is expensive here, there are not many attendants around. Men being men, PL just ask me to simply grab one! What's could go wrong?? It's either too salty or less salty (I was reminded of nemo's home salt that has no taste!). So I thought, yah he's right, dun need to crack my head to think about all these. Just grab lah! So I grabbed the one that says Utan Jod. Until today, I dunno what it means. I tried to translate online, and the translation is "without jod". What the hell is JOD?! That will be my first question when I take my swedish class. Hahahhahaha..oh...and I still cannot find oats. Cos if I can't tell what type of grain is oats, the attendant cannot help me......

Everything here are more expensive compared to what we have back home. Even pads are expensive....I've not tried buying pad yet as I have brought some from M'sia but I will someday need to buy them and I think I will stand there starring at the pads for a lonnnnnng time cos I'm fussy. I want those with wings. I better get my words ready when I go buy otherwise.............I have to draw! hahahhaha imagine me drawing whisper with wings....maxi. how to draw maxi?? tebal pads...later they give me diapers :P

We're staying with a swedish family, under the same roof but we have our own entrance (own space), small kitchen, laundry room, toilet and of course a bedroom, so we don't see the family unless we're outside and they happen to be outside of the hse. The place is cosy and big enough for the both of us. Although the place is furnished, the kitchen is not very well equipped meaning, I'm lacking my oven and also the cooking hood. We have those mobile electrical stove w/o the hood. The landlord said that he will renovate our plc a little, install the hood and dunno do what else, if we decide to stay longer. PL and I have not discuss about us staying here longer cos he wanna see if I can endure the long walk to the train station. It's about 15mins walk.....w/o loads (bags of groceries) it's ok lah. But if got those, wah........I think I dunno if I can take it. We still have time to think about it and of course if he owner renovates our place...then the rent will go up loh.....

The family has an 8 year-old son and 5 year-old daughter. I've seen them but can't speak to them cos they can only speak swedish. I can only say hej hej (hey) n tack (tq). They're both a fan of Star Wars and every weekend, PL said he can hear them humming the Star Wars tune (the walls and ceiling are pretty thin). hehehe...kawaii ne! They go to the day care centre in the day (i think) and comes home about 4.30pm.

Here are some pics taken on my ONLY day out :P

My tired looking face upon arriving at Arlanda Airport, Stockholm

Nah! For those of you who're worried I cannot get chillies...deng deng deng!! Besar giler some more!! But dunno if it's spicy or not. heheh...

Got Nandos some more. Dun play play!

First Swedish meal.....not meatballs but MAX. The local version of McD. It's good!

Think I need to get you bad momos these...good stuff to put on ur face after Mambo nite ;)

The buildings that are full of character. I dun dare to look into the camera cos I'm afraid my character will outshine the buildings' :P

KL Sentral...eh I mean, their train central
